Quad Mill Operation System, QMOS, is the only MES that is specifically designed and developed for the long steel products industry. Its task specific functions combined with highly comprehensive, user friendly and graphical user interfaces, provide a unique user exprerience unlike any other systems in the industry. QMOS' ability to create a highly informed and collaborative work space is also a unique aspect that makes it stand out among the competition.
Currently Quad Infotech is the major player in providing MES in the long products steel market in the North America. QMOS is the Main Manufacturing system in more than 28 steel producing facilities that makes more than 40% of the mini mill steel producers in the Canada and United States.
QMOS enables users to schedule the production of the steel plants in the Melt Shop and the Rolling Mill while optimizing the process and yield. This, along with the real time actual production and quality information, is disseminated to the steel mill operators and managers empowering them to take immediate and informed actions if and when necessary.
QMOS covers the management of the planning, scheduling, and production in the Rolling Mill and the Melt Shop. It manages the process from receiving customer orders, creation of production schedules as well as managing the demand for the steel, up to the production of the billets and bundling and packaging and shipment of semi finished or the finished products to the customers.
