Melt Shop Data Just a Click Away

As the supervisor, about to start his/her shift, you want to know how the previous shift went.  You have 3 options; the first would be to ask the supervisor who has just finished his/her shift and wants nothing more than to go home; the second option is to go over the paper trails and heat sheets, or you can go into QMOS and click on M-REP

The Manager’s Report (M-REP) is the ideal screen for all management levels because of the abundance of information that is provided in real time about all facets of the Melt Shop’s production.  A total of 9 tabs present the data as a summary or on a heat-by-heat basis.  Illustrative graphs and charts are offered for management to easily trend production parameters and improve their decision-making capabilities.  Power on/off times, energy consumptions, treatment and casting times, production tons, and yields are examples of the information readily available to the user.  Two tabs are dedicated solely to delays and consumptions.  With QMOS’ detailed delay structure, the user can pinpoint the exact reason for downtime.  The Consumptions screen offers a breakdown of every Metallic Alloy, Flux, Scrap, Wire or Refractory consumed per heat as either a total or per billet ton value.  The incomparable feature of this screen is that all the information presented on each tab can be previewed and printed at the touch of your fingertips. 

The data presented in this screen is updated in real-time.  The supervisor can see the performance of his/her shift at any point during the shift and make appropriate decisions on the operational direction to be taken for the remainder of the shift. 

So there’s no need to question the departing supervisor or go through a massive paper trail from the previous shift; just select M-REP and go.
