Finished Goods Reapply

Quite often in the processes of a mill, there is a need to a) divert finished goods (FG) to a different grade; or b) saw cut bundles and send them to a different customer.  QMOS has a new functionality to facilitate this task for our customers.

Coupled with proper security rights, the FG-Reapply function allows the Quality Control staff to reapply FG to a different grade, a different work order or a different sales order.  What is unique about this new feature in QMOS, is the level of QC consciousness that is built into it.  By reapplying bundles to a different grade, the chemistry test results of the heat that made the bundles are compared against the specs of the intended grade that the bundle or bundles are being applied to.  If the chemistry test results of the parent heat of the bundles meet the requirements of the grade specs, the bundles will appear as Prime; otherwise the bundles will be put on Hold for chemistry failure. 

In a similar fashion, the bundles could be reapplied to a different work order, having its own set of requirements.  QMOS, will evaluate the chemistry and physical test results of the bundle against the critical physical and chemistry specs of the work order and dispositions the bundles accordingly.  Applying bundles to other sales orders is handled similarly.

What QMOS has been able to achieve is to provide an additional tool for Quality Control staff to prevent failed bundles from being shipped unintentionally to their customer.
