Eliminating Caster Downtime

The QMOS MSP module has just added the capability of storing casting parameters for all strands and is available with the release of Version 10.4. 

This new feature will allow the QUAD Melt Shop team to gather detailed process information on all of the Strands and Tundishes.  Such detailed information will be extremely valuable in making key caster improvements.  Users will be able to retrieve and compare casting speeds, water flows, Tundish and Mold levels, oscillation frequencies and more between strands on a heat-by-heat basis.   The raw data will also be available to allow management to better assess the utilization of strands for each casting process selected.  As a result of this new capability, new trending screens will be presented to display the data graphically.  By quantifying operational deficiencies at the caster, decision making efficiency will be improved.
